I have been practicing yoga for ten years and each time I unroll my mat, I have a different experience. These constant explorations fill me with joy and wonder and eventually lead me to seek yoga teacher training.
My training is in Pranakriya yoga, a nine month long intensive study of the asanas, anatomy, and pranayama coupled with yoga philosophy, history, and ethics. I am capable of teaching across the spectrum of yoga classes from breathy, gentle stretches, to churning meditative posture flows, to intensive workout classes.
As a yoga teacher, I see myself as a holder of space. I contain the space of the area we practice to give students a physically and emotionally secure environment. It is my belief that the safe space enables students to cultivate deeper body awareness. Body awareness not only creates a safer practice for the students, but transposes onto their daily lives, resulting in healthier living and a more yogic lifestyle.
A captivating facet of yoga is its ancient roots that allow a lifetime of study and exploration. As a student of yoga, I continue my education to deepen my practice and enrich my life. As a teacher of yoga, I continue to learn so I may help my students grow.
